OBESITY LINKED TO SEXUAL PROBLEMS IN WOMEN


Many women are obessed with thinness becaue they want better sex. A French study showed that their concerns are justified. Compare to normal-weight women, obese women were 30 percent less likely to have had a sex partner within the past 12 months, less likely to use contraceptivies, and more likely to have an unintended pregnancy. Obesity was not related to sexual dysfunction in women, but it was highly related to erectile dysfunction in men. Obesity has negative sexual effects in women and men.

Not a week goes by these days when a scientist doesnt warn us about dangers in the enviroment -cell phones cause obesity; and plant estrogens impair reproductuve health. News like this makes us want to move into a bubble.
Japanese scientists reported that some chemicals in the enviroment are good for us. Trees are plants release phyoncides that protect them from insects and lack of mositure. They also boost the immune system in humans. People exposed to the great outdoors showed reduced levels of cortisol, heart rate, blood pressure, increased levels of natural killer cells that protect us from disease. Take a walk in the park! It's good for you.

Portion Size VS Serving Size - Are You Over EAting?

What’s the Differnce – Portion Size & Serving Size

When it comes down to choosing the right portion of food that is the proper serving size can be difficult if you don’t know the difference between a “portion and a serving”. The words "portion" and "serving" are usually used interchangeably between the two however they do NOT mean the same thing. A "portion" is the amount of food you choose to put on your plate. Like having a plate of spaghetti or having a handful of peanuts. Now on the other hand a "serving" is the amount of food that experts recommend you eat (like 1 cup of milk or 1 ounce of bread).
The Actual Servings are listed on a food's nutrition facts label too. When choosing your portion, try to make it as close as possible to these recommended serving sizes.
So if you have a bag of pretzels’ and you look at the nutritional label it may have 4 servings of 13 pretzels in the bag. Which means when you have 1 serving of pretzel you will have 13. Anything over 13 will increase the calorie & sodium intake.
Be mindful of HOW MANY/MUCH YOU EAT!


Grains: Aim for 6-11 servings each day. Choose whole grains whenever possible.
Examples One serving equals That's about the size of
Bread 1 ounce (1 small slice, 1/2 bagel, 1/2 bun) Index card
Cooked Grains 1/2 cup cooked oats, rice, pasta Billiard ball
Dry cereal 1/2 cup flakes, puffed rice, shredded wheat Billiard ball


Fruits and Vegetables: Aim 5-9 total servings each day. Choose fresh fruits and veggies whenever possible.
Examples One serving equals That's about the size of
Raw fruit 1/2 cup raw, canned, frozen fruit Billiard ball
Dried fruit 1/4 cup raisins, prunes, apricots An egg
Juice 6 oz 100% fruit or vegetable juice Hockey puck
Raw vegetables 1 cup leafy greens, baby carrots Baseball
Cooked vegetables 1/2 cup cooked broccoli, potatoes Billiard ball


Meat and Beans: Aim for 2-3 servings each day. Choose lean meats and plant proteins whenever possible.
Examples One serving equals That's about the size of
Meat & Tofu 2-3 oz cooked beef, poultry, fish, tofu Deck of cards
Beans 1/2 cup cooked beans, split peas, legumes Billiard ball
Nuts & Seeds 2 Tbsp nuts, seeds, or nut butters Ping pong ball


Dairy: Aim for 2-3 servings of calcium-rich foods each day. Choose low- or non-fat products whenever possible.
Examples One serving equals That's about the size of
Cheese 1 ounce or 1 thin slice of cheese A pair of dice
Milk 1 cup milk, yogurt, soy milk Baseball


Fats & Oils: Eat fats and oils sparingly and in small portions. Choose heart-healthy fats whenever possible.
Examples One serving equals That's about the size of
Fat & Oil 1 tsp butter, margarine

P90X results - 45,60, & 90 Day Pictures! Body in Progess

Hey Ya'll! I am still working on my body but here are my results for P90x 45 day, 60, day and 90 day! I am learning more about diet and working out. I am training now harder than before to run this marathon and I am working on having a more tone but curvy body. I would say my results are not as maxed as they could have been because i didn't want to turn into a stick..but now that I understand how MY body works, i am getting a more tone sexy body..just stay tuned for more pix later! Thank you for all your support. P90x before and after pictures are important! It helps with motivation so don;t forget to take pictures!!!

Push ups / Plank Jacks (part 2 of 2)


Hey all , here is my 2nd edition (day 2) of my push up/plank jacks challenge from CTBF. I think i did something like 6.5 sets ( i wanted to go til muscle failure ) I am committing to be fit and iwant to get better. I am doing my pushups "correctly" . I was told that i wasnt doin them right and need to bring my elbows in closer to my body and to go down further, soooo thats what i did and that sh!t hurt! but i m sure that will make me stronger and get better at actually holding my body weight. I also decided to do a few seconds of bicep flexing. I know a lot of women do bicep flexing so i added a little bit at the end. Thanks for Watching!!! tricep workout working out daily

Chicken Curry

1tbop olive oil
1 onion, thinly sliced
4 cloves garlic diced
2ts[ fresh giner, grated
3 tbsp curry power
1/2 tsp cumin
1lb chicken breast cut into chucks
1 cup coconut milk
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup low fat 2% greek yogurt
juice of 1/2 lemon

coat skillet with oil and place over medium heat
2.sute onions until softened about 2mins, then add garlic,
curry, cinnamon and cumin. stir to combine, add chicken let sear, about 2 mintues
3. Add coconut milk, water, and yogurt, stir to coach and let simmer, stirring occassionally, until chick is cooked
through about 20mints. Add lemon juice and sitr to combine.



Jerk Fish

4cloves garlic, roughly chopped
1 medium yellow onion chopped
1scotch bonnet(or habanero) pepper or 1 jalepeno pepper, seeded and rougly chopped
juice of 1 lime
1tbsp olive oil
2tbsp 100% naturl maple syrup
2tsp thyme
2tsp black pepper
2tsp allspice
1tsp cinnamon
1/2 nutmeg
1lb tilapia

1. combine all ingredeints except for sih to a blender or food processor and puree
2. place fish in a bowl and coact with puree. let marinate for at least 1 hour or up to a day.
3. When ready tocook, spary a large skillet with nonstick spray over medium-high heat. add rish and cook, about 3 to 5 minutes on each
side. service with veggies.


Herb Lentils

1tbsp olive oil
2carrots diced
2 celry stalks, diced
1medium yellow onion, diced,
4cloves garlic diced
1cup dried lentil, rinsed and picked through
2 sprigs fresh thyme bruised
1stalk fresh rosemary, bruised
water(about 2 cups)
2tbsp olive oil
juice of 1/2 lemon
1tbsp red wine vinger

1Put oil mediuom pot. Add beggies and garlic, suate over medium heat until softened.
2add lentils, thyme, rosemary and water. brint to a boil, reduce heat to simmer and cover, cook until lentils are sogt, about 25 minutes
3remove thyme and rosemary sprigs and transfer lentils to a bowl. Add oil, lemon juice and vingar and stir.

Hey Yal .. Well here is my pictures from Round 1 of Insanity. I have come a long way from wher ei started. I can do more and I have way more energy. I am happy with my results, but i want more frommyself. Of course I had a bum foot during this round but I feel its better now and i am going to push hard this time. I want to completely get rid of alllll this fat I have and get those back rolls down. I am starting another round of insanity because I know that doing insanity will get it off. i have to control my eatting and make sure that when im doing insanity workouts that i stay in the right form and dont try to do it fast in the wrong form.
Thanks for the Support from You all and I will do much better next time around.
